Bespoke eLearning: A smarter way to learn

"Learners retain between 25% to 60% more information using eLearning, making it ideal for sensitive or technical content where accuracy is crucial."

This means that eLearning can help ensure that when dealing with complex or critical information your team gets it right the first time.

And learners retain 25%-60% more through digital learning resources!

Based on a study from The Research Institute of America eLearning increases the retention rate of learners. Learning online typically gives retention rates of between 25 to 60%. While face-to-face training is lower and giving only 8 to 10%.

But why is this? Experts suggest that the increase in retention is likely due to eLearning allowing learners more control over their learning journey.

Flexibility in learning pace

For example, learners have the ability to learn at their own pace. Which means they don’t need to consume the learning in the one sitting, which can be a challenge especially with traditional lengthy face-to-face training days. I’m sure many of us has experienced where a set time (often a half or full day) and a high level of knowledge needs to be imparted. It isn’t uncommon for the dreaded learning fatigue to hit or post lunch dip in attention levels.

Seamless integration with daily tasks

However, with eLearning the learner can take a break and easily pick up where they left off at a time convenient to them. Similarly, the 30 minute gap between daily tasks can easily be filled by well-designed eLearning that is specifically developed to have logical entry and exit points in the learning and so simple for the learner to step away and seamlessly pick back up at a later point.

Revisiting critical information

With the ability to revisit and dip in and out of learning and knowledge topics time and again this can often be a valuable and really helpful resource to individuals and organisations.

There is always that moment when the learner has already completed the learning but at a later date is seeking reassurance over specific information. This could be an important area to ensure compliance or it could be a really technical issue where the detail is important and the learner requires a quick check.

Expert eLearning design

There are many strategical reasons why eLearning can have a positive influence when sensitive, technical and compliance is critical. Just as it is critical to ensure that the eLearning is professionally and well designed by experts that have a deep understanding of the learner and organisational needs. Bring both together and the results can be invaluable.
