ECITB is the employer-led skills body for the engineering construction industry in Great Britain, and along with the education sector, government and employers, it helps ensure workers in the industry have the necessary skills.
Every year, the ECITB invests around £28 million to:
- enhance skills across the engineering construction industry;
- support growth through workforce training; and
- tackle labour shortages and skills gaps.
To enhance the delivery of its wide range of qualifications, the ECITB uses a digital registration, awarding and certification system. This system supports the management of its learners, candidates, Awarding Organisation, UK and international training providers, and products.
eCom’s state-of-the-art digital exam platform, eNetAssess, will support question management, assessment creation and delivery of a wide range of assessments for the ECITB.
eNetAssess is a digital assessment system for creating, automating and managing bespoke tests and exams in a secure environment. It provides both practice (formative assessment) and exam (summative assessment) testing, with features including booking management, test creation, question authoring, centre management, scheduling, authentication, invigilation (including eProctoring), and verification, through to final reporting, analysis, and certification.
eCom’s solution will be setup to integrate seamlessly with the ECITB’s own booking management system to support its needs well into the future, as it looks to deliver MCQ, practical assessments as well as eProctoring in line with The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) standards.
eCom is delighted to be playing our part in supporting the ECITB with its new exam platform, with its added automation significantly reducing administrative burdens, improving overall functionality for learners and training providers, and ultimately helping the ECITB achieve its vision of a trailblazing engineering construction industry where critical infrastructure, energy security and net zero ambitions are achieved.
eCom CEO, Wendy Edie, commented, “We are thrilled to support ECITB with eNetAssess our innovative exam platform. This partnership underscores our commitment to providing leading-edge digital solutions that streamline processes and enhance user experience. We look forward to seeing the positive impact on ECITB’s assessment and certification processes.”
Chris Mann, Head of Audit and Assurance at the ECITB, said: “Our collaboration with eCom is a significant step towards modernising our assessment systems. The new platform will not only enhance our operational efficiency but also provide a more accessible and user-friendly experience for our learners and training providers. We are excited about the improvements this will bring to our qualification delivery and the significant impact it will have in equipping engineering construction workers across the UK with the vital skills they need.”
